Host Timeline

Two parts. Part A is the clean one-page timeline the host keeps. Part B is the internal checklist for Ken and Jim, with the exact words of the ask at each step.

Your board, start to finish

Here is what happens, in order, and who does what at each step.

WhenWhat we doWhat you do
TodayWe sit down for about 15 minutes and build your marketing plan. You sign the simple agreement and hand us 10-20 names of businesses you work with.
[DECISION 1: real timeline]We build your website and fix your Google listing. We start calling your names and selling the ad slots. You send each name a quick intro if you're up for it. If not, we make the calls. You never sell.
When all slots are soldWe print your board.Nothing. Sit tight.
About 3-4 days laterWe deliver and install your board, and your marketing year starts.Post your specials and keep the board up.
The next 12 monthsYour website, Google, social, and board all run.Keep the board up and displayed. Point us to 3-5 more businesses that might want a board.

The two asks, plain and up front:

Internal checklist (Ken / Jim)

Same steps, run as a checklist. The exact words of each ask are in quotes. Capture what is listed, then hand the referral list to the slot-selling caller.

Step 1: The 15-minute interview and plan

Step 2: The agreement ask

Say it plainly:

"It's a simple agreement to keep the board up and displayed for 12 months. That's the whole commitment, and you never pay for any of it. Want me to have it sent over today?"

Step 3: The referral ask (do this today)

Say it plainly:

"Here's the part that makes it work. Give me 10 to 20 names of businesses you already deal with. Your banker, your realtor, your insurance agent, your suppliers, the regulars who own places around here. We call them and sell the ad slots that pay for all of this. You don't sell a thing."

Step 4: The intro-request ask

Say it plainly:

"An intro from you makes this easy. If you're up for it, send each of them a quick text or email that you're in and we'll be calling. If not, no problem, we'll make the calls ourselves."

Two-line template the host can copy into a text or email:

Hey [name], IM Werks is setting me up with a free board and a year of marketing. Ken Causey will call you about an ad slot on it. Worth taking his call.

Step 5: Hand-off to the slot-selling caller

Step 6: Delivery-day nomination ask

On the day you deliver and install the board, say it plainly:

"Now that yours is up, point me to 3 to 5 more businesses that might want a board of their own. I'll tell them you sent me."
